We have received the following response from Noosa Council in reply to an enquiry from a constituent regarding roadworks on Hilton Terrace:
Council have plans in place to upgrade infrastructure on Hilton Terrace, including the intersection with Ernest St and the zebra crossings between Doonella Bridge and Hilton Esplanade. Preliminary works are currently underway. Council has raised a potential conflict between 60km/h traffic and zebra crossings at the Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC). TAC does not support plans to reduce the speed limit on Hilton Terrace at this time. Council is currently completing a Shire wide review of the zebra crossings and this work is on-going.
Council has also completed an audit of the crossing at the Noosa Lakes Resort on Hilton Terrace. This resulted in some improvements such as line marking and tree trimming which have been implemented immediately. This audit also made recommendations for improvements which are to be included with the upgrade of the Ernest St/Hilton Terrace intersection.
