𝟐𝟎𝟑𝟐 𝐎𝐋𝐘𝐌𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐒 & 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐋𝐘𝐌𝐏𝐈𝐂 𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐒 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 🏅with the plan now being released 🎈 we are seeing many positives including those in line with the 2023 united crossbench statement of halting a Gabba rebuild 🏨 adherence to the $7.1 billion budget, and more legacy infrastructure in regional areas. Even though announcements that any athlete accommodation 🏘, including in Maroochydore, will be utilised for housing after 2032, concerningly the words ‘affordable’ were absent in the government’s statements as the crossbench were clear that all built accommodations must be transferred to either social or community housing providers to ensure affordable options for our key worker families 🏠. With no mention that the Host City contract will be made public, no doubt we will be seeking this to be content! 👍![]()
📌Going forward, there is much work for our community in a very short amount of time. This includes ensuring that our housing, transport, infrastructure and other issues raised with governments are resolved well prior the Games, and that our sporting upgrades are delivered for the team training opportunities in advance that have been sought. 🚌🛣 🏈The clock is now ticking, and may the legacy of this Games include one where communities and their residents benefit as a priority 🤛🙏![]()

State Surf Lifesaving President Gared shared info on drones for SharkSmart patrols and Search and Rescue ops, as well efforts to see surf lifesaving in the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. With our electorate having a higher percentage of seniors than elsewhere in QLD, as I said in my opening remarks, this is an opportunity for an open conversation on the many types of abuse of our matriarchs and patriarchs. This can include unacceptable property settlement court delays that is leading to homelessness, and carers who are retiring into poverty due to a lack of superannuation . 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑 🚣♂️ 𝐍𝐎𝐎𝐒𝐀 𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐒 – as posted previously, from today March 24, anchoring restrictions for vessels over 5m will apply to Noosa Sound (Little Woods Bay). In addition, that restrictions to Woods Bay and the Dog Beach Area started on 24 February.![]()
👉 Exemptions for boats between 5 and 7.5 metres apply, being allowed to anchor in this area for up to 2 hrs per day to access shops, services, or enjoy recreational activities.![]()
👉 Further on the Noosa North Shore and the 28 day anchoring restrictions will be subject to announcement in April.![]()
