Further to previous updates following reviews into our bush fires, QLD now has a new fire danger ratings system.
Commencing in September, the new system is designed to make it easier for you to stay safe and is being rolled out Australia-wide. Each level describes, based on conditions, the potential danger if a bushfire was to start in our area, so we can all be better prepared.
There are four Fire Danger Rating (FDR) levels and each links with advice so you can take action to protect yourself and others. It also includes an ‘off’ level, in white, for times of low fire danger when no action is needed. DFRs are a great tool you can use to monitor bushfire conditions and ensure you’re taking action well before a bushfire breaks out.
