As announced, due to the impacts of COVID-19 on Councils capacity to take on the site, it is now in an ‘expressions of interest’ process. Entities that had sent through expressions previously will be provided with the terms of reference, and a time-frame by end of October to come back with their proposals. These entities are all within the sphere of education and address needs identified by the community previously, as well they possess potential opportunity for partnerships within that site. There is also the possibility that consideration of the work done by Noosa Education and Training Alliance (NETA) be given to ensure that there is a collaborative approach, not a silo or duplication of efforts. An exciting time with an expected announcement projected by the end of the year. Even though this has been a long journey and extremely frustrating and disappointing that the site did not come into direct community control via the council as hoped, progress is only weeks away.
