The year 2021 marks the 10th anniversary of the commencement of Queensland’s current portfolio committee system. Having advocated for improvements via a review for now 2 years, it was an honour to sit on a panel with ‘architects’ Judy Spence and Lawrence Springborg, as well Curtis Pitt MP to share insights of the process from differing perceptions. With QLD a unicameral parliament, having the most effective committee system possible is essential to deliver the best outcomes
