Your Voice. Your Noosa.

As an Independent Member of the Queensland Parliament, I am honoured to represent the wonderful diversity that is Noosa, not a political party or personal ideology. This is liberating and empowering for the residents of our electorate and provides opportunity to create a future that you have envisioned. One that is bold in researching ideas and trialling new ways to address our challenges, through the development of partnerships and a focus on what unites. One that encourages open discussion and respectful debate which concentrates on common ground and what can be achieved. One that considers all viewpoints and perspectives, with objective research and a passion for people, that puts Noosa first.

I am your voice. It is your Noosa.

✅ 𝐍𝐎𝐎𝐒𝐀 𝐒𝐅𝐃 & 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒 🤜 have been given in response to my Question Without Notice in Parliament. Thank you to the Deputy Premier who assured that the development of new regional plans would be actioned as soon as possible in consultation with local councils, which gives Noosa another avenue to oppose the excessive population targets thrust on us in the ShapingSEQ Plan 2023. 🏨In addition, that developers who use the SFD process must work with Local Governments and if they don’t, Government would cancel their applications. In 2024 I opposed the legislation that facilitated bypassing councils in the SFD pathway, so this confirmation is appreciated, and I thank the Deputy Premier and the new government for this. Now we just need an appropriate definition of ‘affordable’ in the regulations to ensure that what is applied for is genuinely so for our key industry workers 🙏 👉To read the QWN in full, head to documents.parliament.qld.gov.au/events/han/2025/2025_03_12_DAILY.pdf#page=26%20 👉Stay updated by subscribing to my newsletter at www.sandybolton.com/newsletters as well by following Sandy Bolton MP on Facebook, Instagram and Linked In 👍 ... 𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐅𝐌𝐈 🌳is an acronym for an association that provides supports for relatives, carers and friends of those impacted with mental health challenges. It was lovely to meet with Irene and Celine who are ambassadors for this not-for-profit and discuss their inaugural report that revealed the realities including how carers sacrifice their own mental, physical, and emotional well-being, and why it is so important to look after them! ❤️ Thankfully, there is assistance as well respite, and we also now have the new Cooroy Mental Health Carer Connection Group, which meets on the third Thursday of every month to provide a much-needed local peer support, and a shoulder. 🙏👉 To read the full report visit arafmi.com.au/at-what-cost/ 👉 For more information on Arafmi Ltd visit arafmi.com.au/ 👉 For more information or to register your interest for the the Cooroy Mental Health Carer Connection Group visit arafmi.com.au/series/cooroy-mental-health-carer-connection-group/ ... 𝐀𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐔𝐒 𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐍 𝐕𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 ‘𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐍’ – This may sound ‘scary’ and it is!! 😦 Hence why we funded the production of another 6 ‘Asparagus Assassins’ (tools to effectively remove Asparagus fern) for our Noosa coast care groups💚 This tool was developed by Noosan Ron Gooch, and as promised, Noosa Bushcare is having an open day between 9 and 11.30am Saturday 29 March for residents to learn about ecological restoration, see a demonstration of the new tool in action and have a chance to make a difference to the environment 💪. Details on the flyer below including what to bring 😊👍 Gratitude to all of our coast and bush care group vollies 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 that work tirelessly on our behalf🙏👉For anyone who would like to support conservation efforts in our bushland, please visit www.noosacoastcare.org.au, or www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61561338802015 or email cooeeron4a.a@gmail.com. ... 𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐋 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 ♥ A very well-earned retirement for an incredible Noosan, who exemplifies humility, integrity and commitment to all. The word legend came up constantly as attendees shared their stories on Phil, including myself, MC Ian, Kim, Dave and so many more. He has been a shining light to our community and across Australia, making being environmentally conscious very cool! 😎. From turning Noosa Landcare 🌳 into the largest in Australia to educating the next generations of caretakers, Phil’s legacy will live on and on. We all shed a tear 😥 as we will miss his wisdom and passion for people and place. As Ian said so beautifully in his poem: 𝐵𝑢𝑡 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 𝑎 𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑒 ℎ𝑒’𝑠 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑑, 𝑁𝑜𝑜𝑠𝑎 𝐿𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑡 ℎ𝑎𝑠 𝑔𝑟𝑜𝑤𝑛, 𝐸𝑛𝑑𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑠𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑤𝑒𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑠, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑓𝑙𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑠ℎ𝑒𝑑 𝑏𝑒 𝑖𝑡 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤𝑛.
